Contrary to misleading media reports today, the Federal Government is not cutting funding to the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC). Funding for teaching and learning at USC from the Federal Government is actually increasing by $7 million, from $165 million last year, to $172 million this year.

he 2018 Federal Budget announced last month was another big win for the Sunshine Coast. We got some very large new commitments of funds for much needed local infrastructure, as well as important tax relief for low and middle income families, a long sought after change to the pension system, and a lot more money for small community grants locally.
