New Fisher Community Awards scheme to recognise those who give back

Mr Wallace has called for public nominations to recognise people and organisations who have made a difference in the fields of education, employment and retirement.

Maleny resident wins Andrew's Christmas Card Competition

Maleny resident Jacky Vonhoff’s photograph of the Glass House Mountains, taken from the Maleny Botanic Gardens, has been declared the winner of Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace’s 2017 Christmas Card Competition. The competition asked Sunshine Coast residents to submit photographs that showcase our beautiful region.

Andrew Wallace visits Australian Defence Forces in the Middle East

Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace recently returned from visiting ADF personnel serving in the Middle East and most notably Afghanistan, where he learnt more about the ADF, its operations and equipment in theatre. This first-hand knowledge of how the ADF uses its supplies and equipment on the ground will help him to advance his Sunshine Coast Defence Industry Initiative.

Andrew's Statement on the Queensland Government Bruce Highway Announcement

Federal Member for Fisher, Andrew Wallace said: “Today’s announcement by Queensland Main Roads and Road Safety Minister Mark Bailey regarding the modest State Government funding for upgrades to the Bruce Highway south of Caloundra was bizarre. The Queensland Budget was handed down just last week and there was absolutely nothing in the Budget papers about this 20% funding contribution. Not a thing. Their contribution was nowhere to be seen.”

Safety upgrades for dangerous Sippy Downs road

Andrew Wallace announced that a dangerous intersection in Sippy Downs will receive $17,000 in Federal funding to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians. The money will go to installing a fully controlled right turn with arrows at the intersection of University Way and Chancellor Village Boulevard.

Federal Budget contains $530 million for Bruce Highway upgrade

Local people on the Sunshine Coast will benefit from new employment and investment opportunities following the Australian Government’s Budget announcement, which included more than $530 million for critical upgrades to the Bruce Highway between the Pine River and Caloundra interchanges as part of its major package of infrastructure investment.
