Local Federal Member backs Glasshouse Country RSL Renovations
Ahead of the 2019 Federal Budget, local Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace has thrown his support behind funding for renovations to Glasshouse RSL.
Mr Wallace said that Glasshouse Country RSL Sub Branch is a true community asset which deserves the Government’s help.
“I have visited Glasshouse Country RSL many times, and I know what fantastic support they offer for many of the Sunshine Coast’s 15,000 veterans. But President Brian and the members have been telling me for a while that they could do so much more.” Mr Wallace said.
“Renovations to the Sub-branch would not come cheap, but with the right funding Glasshouse Country RSL could provide a safer, more appealing space which would draw more former service men and women to the sub-branch and help them to get access to the welcoming mateship and the life-changing services available.”
“A renovated space would also allow Glasshouse Country RSL to cater to community meetings and other local events, creating a valuable new low cost facility for local residents and helping the sub-branch to sustain itself into the future.”
Mr Wallace called on local residents to show their support.
“I am fighting in Canberra to secure Federal funding for these renovations, but I need your help. Email me, contact me through my website, or comment on my Facebook page to show your support for this terrific community project.”
