Sunshine Coast Business Helimods in the running for Australian Export Award
Sunshine Coast business Helimods will join 93 of Australia’s other leading exporters next week to fight it out for the top honours at the 2019 Australian Export Awards.
Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace said that Helimods’ inclusion among the finalists shines a spotlight on the enormous contribution Sunshine Coast exporters are making to our economy.
“94 finalists employing 34,000 Australians and generating more than $7.8 billion in export earnings have been selected for their exceptional entrepreneurship and innovation, and Helimods could not be a more worthy nominee.” Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace said.
“Through their creativity, leadership and determination, Will Shrapnel and Helimods are now exporting their high-quality innovative products all around the world and creating the jobs of the future we need right here on the Coast.”
“I want to see our industry base grow on the Sunshine Coast to take in a wider range of industry sectors and expand into new markets all over the world. I’m sure that by sharing their success stories through these awards, and through the work that Will and his team do in our community, they will inspire other Sunshine Coast small businesses out there to take a punt and go global.”
Businesses exporting contemporary circus performances, lightning conducting and earthing systems, revolutionary horse shoes, Yellowtail Kingfish and hydraulic and lifting solutions are among this year’s other finalists, representing exporters spanning across all sectors of our economy.
“Exports create more jobs right here and further strengthen our economy. That’s why our Government continues to provide more opportunities for our 53,000 exporters through expanding our network of free trade agreements.” Mr Wallace said.
The 2019 Australian Export Awards will be announced in Canberra on 3 December. The full list of finalists can be found at: www.exportawards.gov.au/finalists/2019
